Graph viewer description

This is a tool for data exploration. Very often the items of a data set have a large number of properties associated with them. Starting from a big data source, this tool allows you to build a graph of these items and show their properties and related connections in a simple and clear way. It’s an easy and fun way to explore data and find connections between them. These are the main features:

  • Search Widget for a simple and fast search in the data sources.
  • Simple system to add nodes to the graph viewer by clicking on search results.
  • Card mode visualization of node data.
  • Easy graph navigation system with drag and zoom features.
  • Creation of automatic links between a new node and those already present on the graph.
  • Multiple graph drawing algorithms: force-directed, circle, hierarchical, grid, spread, etc.
  • Ability to customize the displayed properties for each type of node (human, city, etc).

Here we show an example of the power of the tool. In this example the data source is represented by wikidata. Wikidata (link a wikidata https://www.wikidata.org) is a free and open knowledge base. The Wikidata repository consists mainly of items, each one having a label, a description and any number of aliases. Through our tool you can search some wikidata items and add them to graph viewer.
